There were two written exams each of 30 mins without any time gap ( and there was no negative marking so do attempt all the questions in sitting for NIIT tech):
1.The first one was only of figures:
8 figures were given & 9th had to selected from 8 given options. It was a test and 36 questions to be done in 30 mins. Some were really very tough but most of them were easy. Time is a big boundation, so remember to take a watch, which
I dint had. after 30 mins. they took the question paper back and gave the next paper.
2.This was an aptitude test which had 30 questions to be done in 30 mins. It had 5 section and i think there was a sectional cutoff too. this paper had normal questions of aptitude and quantitative.
You should have all the formulae and shortcuts on the tips to clear this one and do not waste time at all.
just try to attempt all the questions. there were 4 options for each question. questions were from following as far as
I remember...
a) Time and distance
b) Work and wages
c) Profit and loss
d) Ration and proportion
e) Some questions on equations
f) Some data sufficiency problems
I cant remember rest of the questions
After the test the we were given a presentation bout NIIT TECH and we wer allowed to ask some questions if we had bout the company. Then we had to wait for the results which wer declared after an hour and surprisingly there were only 18 candidates were selected out of 112.
From my college IITM l2 were selected.
Then we had to fill in a form and wait for the interview, long wait of 4-5 hours and then came my chance.
My interview was taken by the same guy who gave presentation.
I was a little nervous initially but I tried to be calm and content:
The interview :
First I was asked to tell some thing bout myself so i gave my intro and as i had my project work with me so
I ended it with telling bout it. He took the project file and seemed to be
little impressed with the project I had as it was about robotics.
@ |3 |-| |.... continued......
By this time i got confident and words started to flow easily as I relaxed a little.
He then asked me bout DBMS:
1)What is DBMS and its need?
2)What is an INDEX?
3)What is normalization?
4)What is denormalization?
5)What is a deadlock in DBMS?
6)Why it occurs and how we resolve it?
some more questions I answered all of them except one that was a very typical one have not heard
about it ever so I said I had no idea.
He then asked me if I know networks, I replied yes and he asked some simple questions:
1)Wat is a network?
2)Wat is TCP/IP?
3)Layers in OSI?
Although he asked simple question but remember to give answers in details as they wont ask u to tell more bout the topic and
just check how much you know bout the topic so add in some good details until any additional information
you know.
They wont show any reactions to your answers but continuously mark your answers and replies. So remember to reply with details.
Then he asked me some questions from Operating systems:
1)Wat O.S I had worked in?
2)Wat is the difference b/w LINUX and UNIX?
2)Differecne b/w UNIX and WINDOWS?
3)Wat is MUT EX?
4)Wat is dead lock and when it occurs?
Some more questions on OS
Then he gave me a C++ program to add greatest 2 numbers from an array, I did it in a flash and asked him if he wanted me to
optimize the code. He said it was fine.
Then he started asking some H.R questions:
1)Bout Family.
2)My aspirations.
3)Interests.
4)Extra curricular activities.
5)Personal Objective.
6)Hobbies and all

Then he wished me luck and the interview was over. We had to wait for another hour for the results.
Then came the moment and the results were announced and surprisingly only 8 were selected
out of 18
We were told that 80% was the cutoff for the written exams so accuracy is equally important as speed.
I would like to wish all of you "BEST OF LUCK !"
To all the MCA and B.Tech people :
Just Keep Working, There are plenty of Opportunities and you will definitely
get your chance!
Take care people
