Simplify Your Job Search

Online job searches and traditional job hunting strategies could help you land a job as soon as possible. If you are patient enough to go through these processes, you will be able to land a job which could become your lifelong career.

However, these processes are often difficult and could take up a lot of your time. Although it is suggests that you should focus on your job search, there are situations that a full time job search is not possible.

For example, you already have a part-time job since you need to support yourself financially. If you spend the whole day searching for a job, you will not be able to get any pay. To maintain a steady job while hunting for a better career, you need to simplify your job search.

A simplified job search will also help you focus on certain industries or even a small number of companies. When you focus, you can fully customize your resume, cover letter and carefully prepare for an interview since you are not thinking of other interviews and job applications.

Information at Your Fingertips

Traditional job search suggests that you go through each classified ads and websites to search for your preferred job. But that will take time and resources which will yield little not results at all.

Instead of focusing on job search sites, use the online technology called RSS or Really Simple Syndication. This online tool could help you stream your preferred information into a single webpage. Your information will be placed to an “RSS Feed Reader” so you do not have to go through each webpage again.

Most job search websites offer RSS Feed of their search results. That means you will be able to save your job search results and be constantly updated through your RSS Feed Reader. There are RSS Feed Readers online that you can use for free and they can provide you with almost unlimited updates for your job search.

Get Updates through Email

Instead of getting updates from RSS Feed Readers, another option is to “tweak” your online profile in job search sites. Most job search sites offer email updates to their users so that they could receive email updates whenever new vacancy is posted in their website.

You need to be as detailed as possible in your profile and the updates you need. It might take you sometime to complete your online profile but the accuracy of job search results is worth it. Instead of visiting various websites for a job, you can just check your email for new vacancies.

Harnessing RSS and updating your online profile is a must if you want to ease your job search. Since most of the vacancies are now posted online, you need to be updated with the latest through RSS and email as soon as possible. Even during recession, opportunities still exists. You just have to know where to look and how to gather information as soon as possible. It is difficult at first but once everything is set up, your job search is practically automated.
